Please stop by the Confederate Home Garden, 23 Chalmers Street, show your printed or e-ticket, and pick up a wristband for entry into each house and garden on the tour. We will also have tea and refreshments during and after the tour at the Confederate Home Garden. We also have a list that breaks down all the South Carolina home & garden shows by region making it easier to find local expos. Each home expo listing including contact information to make it easy to get in touch with the promoter.
Private, historic homes on tour are unable to accommodate wheelchairs. All other event ticketholders will show their confirmations at the door of the event location for admission. Heather Rivet, Nathaniel Russell House Manager, brings her experience from the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum and explores the legacy of the America’s Pastime in the Lowcountry. Join Aliza from Rosie the Wanderer to learn how to tie basic macrame knots to make your own macrame plant hanger. In this 2 hour class you will learn many fun knot patterns and designs. By the end of the class, you will know the basics so that you can take the skills home and make some fun handmade. Louisa Pringle Cameron, a native Charlestonian and author of three books on Charleston gardens, presents a brief history of gardening in Charleston.
The popular Glorious Garden Tours on Fridays feature private gardens in the Historic District; and Garden Splendor Tours, which feature some of Charleston's most exclusive private gardens. Please wear comfortable shoes, no high-heeled or kitten heeled shoes allowed inside these historic homes. There is no handicap accessibility at these private homes. Charleston Restaurant week is an eleven day celebration with participating restaurants featuring special menu items, promotions, and discounts. Sarah Platt Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Anthropology, will be discussing the archaeology of gunsmithing at what is now the Heyward-Washington House. Prior to the construction of the standing house in 1771, the townlot was home to two generations of a white gunsmithing family called the Milners and their enslaved. Freedom seeker Lucy Banbury had a trying and eventful life that took her on a journey of thousands of miles.

Restrooms are available at the Confederate Home Garden, as well as at other locations along the tour route. The location of the public restrooms will be noted on the tour map. Information about parking and pedi-cabs will be included with the maps and other information which will be sent to you via e-mail a day or two before the date of the tour.
