Enjoy the Fall house tours hosted by The Preservation Society, which works diligently to promote positive long-term growth, historic preservation, and strong community within the Charleston area. These popular tours of private gardens will not include interiors and group size will be limited to accommodate social distancing. Enthusiasts will gather in small, intimate groups to learn the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of designing and maintaining a select group of Charleston’s most celebrated gardens with expert guides. Please stop by the Confederate Home Garden, 23 Chalmers Street, show your printed or e-ticket, and pick up a wristband for entry into each house and garden on the tour. We will also have tea and refreshments during and after the tour at the Confederate Home Garden. We also have a list that breaks down all the South Carolina home & garden shows by region making it easier to find local expos. Each home expo listing including contact information to make it easy to get in touch with the promoter.
Charleston Festival of Houses and Gardens
Well-supervised children ages six and older are welcomed on the house and garden tours if tickets are purchased for them. Because of the risk to private property and collections, strollers, car seats, backpacks, or children strapped in any manner to and adult are not permitted in private residences on tour. Are all the house and garden tours only scheduled for weekends?
The popular Glorious Garden Tours on Fridays feature private gardens in the Historic District; and Garden Splendor Tours, which feature some of Charleston's most exclusive private gardens. Please wear comfortable shoes, no high-heeled or kitten heeled shoes allowed inside these historic homes. There is no handicap accessibility at these private homes. Our list of SC home and garden shows is updated daily and features home expos and events for the betrothed.

Charleston Build, Remodel & Landscape Expo
New construction nearly always unearths long-lost remnants. Occasionally, however, several of these same projects uncover those citizens themselves. Join Grahame Long, HCF’s Director of Museums, for this fascinating lecture on Charleston’s past. Vital support from Festival patrons, donors, and partners enables HCF to fulfill its mission through education, advocacy, and preservation initiatives.

Each event has the ticket price in the event description. The information posted makes me want to attend, with my husband. I read most all of the information but I didn’t see the price for the various tours and activities.

Comfortable, flat walking shoes are strongly encouraged. They are safer and better for walking on uneven sidewalks and cobbled streets and will also help protect the floors of the historic homes. Please present proof of purchase and a photo ID to receive your TOUR map and TOUR credentials from the ticket office at 108 Meeting Street. Ticketholders for Architectural and Garden Splendor Tours will receive an email with details about where the tour starts and other details.
The calendar will be in the far right column if viewing on a desktop. Many years ago for our anniversary, my husband and I attended a candlelight house and garden tour. It was in September or October, is this the same tour/festival and it has been moved to the spring?
